ZDL Sidekick is a tool for both Windows, Linux, and Mac that allows users to migrate and launch their ZDL config files from a config file created on another OS.
Contents |
[edit] Purpose
ZDLSharp (and ZDL) config files contain the absolute path to the files that the user configured. ZDL Sidekick edits those paths to properly point to files on that platform. It is also written in C++, which means that it does not require the .NET framework to execute.
[edit] Formats
Both console and GUI (using wxWidgets) versions are available. The GUI version is not a standalone ZDL program, but only serves to load, launch, and translate config files between OSes.
ZDL Sidekick not refers to a library system that loads and interprets ZDL Configuration Files.
[edit] Extended ZDL Configuration
ZDL Sidekick uses a new engine to read and write configuration files, called Extended ZDL Configuration.
[edit] Thumb Drivers/Mass Storage Devices
ZDL Sidekick will also let users create/modify config files so that they will properly work off a removable drive, such as a USB Thumbdrive. ZDL Sidekick does this by using a variable that gets filled in with the path and/or drive to that device.
[edit] Release
This product is currently in the planning phase, and has not been released yet.
